Shoper is Poland's most popular SaaS e-commerce platform. Native integration with BLIK, InPost, Allegro and Pocztex, Polish customer service and full compliance with RODO make it a safe choice for stores starting out and growing to the level of a few hundred orders per day.
IdoSell (formerly IAI-Shop) is positioned higher than Shoper in terms of scalability. It works well for stores with 10,000+ SKUs, high traffic and the need for advanced pricing rules, loyalty programs and B2B integration. The sales commission-based billing model can be advantageous for high volumes.
If you already have a site on WordPress and sell up to a few hundred products, WooCommerce is a natural extension. Keep in mind hosting costs (VPS minimum), regular plugin updates and potential performance issues with a large catalog.
Shopify works especially well for cross-border sales. If your main market is the US, UK or other Western countries, the Shopify ecosystem (Shopify Payments, integrations with Meta/Google Ads, Shopify Markets) gives you an advantage. For the Polish market only - consider alternatives.
Your store requires a unique shopping experience that goes beyond the capabilities of off-the-shelf platforms. Headless commerce - e.g. Next.js + Payload CMS or Next.js + Medusa.js - gives you full design freedom, maximum performance and the ability to handle B2B and B2C from a single backend. Shoper for selling exclusively in Poland - native BLIK, InPost, Allegro, Polish customer service. Shopify for cross-border sales or when an ecosystem of English-language integrations is a priority. When selling only in Poland, Shoper is cheaper and better suited locally.
On Shoper or IdoSell: 5 000-20 000 PLN (configuration, customized theme). On WooCommerce: PLN 8,000-30,000 (hosting, customization). On PrestaShop: 15,000-60,000 PLN. Headless store: 60 000-200 000+ PLN. On top of that, maintenance costs are added: 300-1,500 PLN/month.
WooCommerce is simpler to use and has a huge ecosystem of plugins. PrestaShop gives you more control over store logic and works well with more complex product configurations. Both require their own hosting and active technical maintenance, which is their main disadvantage compared to SaaS.
Yes - Shoper and IdoSell have native Allegro integrations. WooCommerce and PrestaShop require third-party plugins (e.g. BaseLinker). Shopify does not have official Allegro integration - third-party solutions are available. BaseLinker is a good option as a multi-channel integration hub for any platform.
Shoper, IdoSell and most Polish SaaS platforms have BLIK natively or via the Przelewy24/PayU/Tpay gateway. In WooCommerce you install a plug-in of any Polish payment provider. Shopify requires an external processor - Stripe, for example, does not support BLIK, so a gateway with Polish support is necessary.
Migration is justified when: the platform does not support your catalog without performance issues, key integrations (Allegro, B2B) are missing, subscription + commission costs exceed cost-effectiveness, or you plan to expand overseas. Store migration is a 2-6 month project - include the cost of URL redirection, data migration and SEO testing.
